    Speckled with the colours of a variety of stalls and the vibrant garbs of the students the much awaited annual fete Fiesta  – The Trade Fair 2018 was organized at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs. ) Ajay Sareen.  The chief guests Justice (Retd.) N.K. Sud, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman Local Committee, Mrs. Arunima Sud, Mrs. Rama, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh. S.N. Mayor, Mrs. & Dr. S.K. Arora, Principal DAV College, Mr. Ashok Saren were accorded a floral welcome by Principal Dr. Sareen, Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Event Organizer, Mrs. Navroop, Dean Youth Welfare, Mr. Amarjit Khanna and UG PG Head Girls.  Beginning with traditional mangal tilak the fete was declared open by Justice N.K. Sud by releasing balloons carrying the logo of the HMV Fete.  The event also witnessed the release of HMV News edited by Mrs. Lovleen Kaur.


    Principal Dr. Sareen expressed with exuberance that the fete is a regular phenomenon of the college and this year trade fair remained its special feature.  She extolled the efforts of the PG department of Commerce for organizing the trade fair in order to inculcate professional spirit in the students.  Mrs. Arunima was coronated as first lady of the HMV.  Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud gave his blessings saying that such events are an integral part of education and enhance many skills of the students.  He felicitated the teaching and non-teaching members for the event.  The guests enjoyed the prize winning performance of Ms. Ginni and other cultural events.  A fashion show was also organized on the occasion.  After passing through various rounds the titles of Ms. Stylish was won by Sunaina, Ms. Ethnic by Harpreet, Ms. Charming by Anisha, Ms. Elegant by Surbhi Jain and Ms. Fete title was won by Nidhi Sharma.


    Adding to the grandeur of the show was the presence of eminent singers Masha Ali and Diljaan.  In addition the star cast of upcoming movie Laanva Phere was also present which included Roshan Prince, Rubina Bajwa, Nisha Bano, Karamjit Anmol and Harpreet Sangha.  The audience was enthralled and every foot tapped to the beat of their songs.  The singers were welcomed and honoured by Mr. Pardeep Mehta, Mrs. Yuvika, Mr. Ravi Kumar and Mr. Lakhwinder.


    In the evening session Hon’ble Chief Guest Sh. Jagdish Raj Raja and his wife Mrs. Anita Raja, Mr. Sushil Rinku, M.L.A., Mr. Arvind Ghai, Secretary DAVCMC and Member Local Committee and Mrs. Rashmi Ghai, Dr. Surendra Seth, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Mr. Ashok Sareen graced the occasion.  Principal Dr. Sareen welcomed and honoured the first lady of the city Mrs. Anita Raja and Mr. Sushil Rinku.  Mayor Sh. Jagdish Raj Raja said that HMV holds a distinguished name in the field of girls’ education.  He blessed the students and prayed for the success of the college.


    The ‘Vision Beyond’ organized a lucky draw worth thousands.  The lucky draw of the raffle tickets was declared in an innovative manner.  Sh. Jagdish Raj Raja, Mrs. Anita Raja, Mr. Sushil Rinku, Mrs. and Mr. Arvind Ghai, Dr. Ajay Sareen, Mr. Ashok Sareen congratulated the winners.  Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Fete Incharge thanked the guests and staff members for the success of the event.  The stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Nidhi Kochhar, Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur and Mr. Ravi Kumar.
